Hey there readers,
This week the democratic candidates turned against each other. Dramaaaaaaa. What happened you ask? Hope Johnson and her campaign decided to call out Anthony Armstrong and claim that he was not a feminist. He responded in his speech saying that even though he had never outwardly called himself a feminist, he had demonstrated through his campaign that he supported equal rights for all genders. He then made a point to specifically let the people know what steps his campaign was willing to take in order to ensure this. Johnson’s campaign made a statement on Instagram claiming that Armstrong was attempting to speak over women and that he wouldn’t know the struggles of being a woman and he would never understand the importance of feminism. As I’m sure most of you can imagine, the Armstrong campaign did not react very well to this, and so the squabble began. The two teams went back and forth on social media bickering about the definition of feminism and who was allowed to call themselves that.
Unfortunately, I will not be sharing my personal opinion on this matter at this time, but if you really want to know, my dm’s are always open.
XOXO,
Becky
